What cookies do here

A cookie is a small text file a browser stores so a website can tell sessions apart. Skibbel uses them for three things and three things only: holding your guest session together during matching, remembering small preferences, and counting visits in anonymous totals.

The cookies Skibbel sets

The strictly necessary ones carry your session through matching — disable them and the service simply stops working. Preference cookies keep you from re-answering the same settings. Analytics cookies count traffic in anonymous totals: they show which pages deserve attention, never who visited.

Cookies from partners

Checkout for coins runs through an external payment processor, which may set cookies of its own to operate payment and fight fraud. Those fall under the processor’s own policy — and the card details they protect never reach Skibbel.

Refusing, or wiping everything

Every current browser lets you refuse or delete cookies in its privacy settings. Refuse the strictly necessary kind and matching stops working; refuse the others and you only lose a few remembered preferences. Deleting cookies also deletes your guest session — which is occasionally precisely what you want.

Changes and questions

Whenever the cookie setup changes, this page changes with it — what you are reading is always the current version. The broader data picture is in the privacy policy; open questions go to [email protected] via the contact page.
