The short version
Skibbel does one thing — it puts two adults into a private video call. This page covers what the service touches while you browse a public page, run a match, or leave a guest session sitting in your browser. Reading the public side, like the FAQ or the blog guides, needs no account and reveals nothing personal about you.
Camera and microphone
Two permissions make a live call possible: camera and microphone. Both belong to your browser — you turn them on, you turn them off, and the lens cannot activate before you allow it. Every Skibbel call holds exactly two people: nobody watches from the wings, nothing streams you to an audience, and nothing installs on your device.
Routine records behind a match
Pairing two strangers live takes some unglamorous plumbing: basic device and browser details, server logs holding IP addresses and timestamps, and page traffic measured in totals rather than individuals. The guest session itself remembers only what it needs to run — free matches remaining, plus any coin balance. Coin purchases are handled by an external payment processor, so full card numbers never reach our servers; the terms of service cover the same ground.
Cookies, briefly
Three jobs, nothing more: cookies keep your guest session together during a match, remember minor preferences, and tally page visits as anonymous totals. A few are strictly necessary — disable those and matching simply cannot work. Every cookie we set, plus the steps to refuse or delete them, is listed in the cookie policy.
What travels with a report
A report or a block can carry session context into a moderation review. That context is what separates a moderator who can act on abuse from one who has to guess — and it is how repeat offenders leave the queue for good. The rules being enforced are spelled out in the community guidelines.
Choices that remain yours
Camera on or off, stay or skip, keep the session or wipe it — how much of you exists here is your decision. One tap ends a call; closing the tab ends everything. To have session data corrected or deleted, use the contact page. We do not sell personal information — no exceptions.
